„Condei de junior” este o rubrică semnată de elevii Școlii Generale „Leon Dănăilă” din Darabani, pasionați de istorie locală, interesați de a învăța secretele scrisului și dornici să facă și altora cunoscute poveștile pe care ei le descoperă.
Cât de bine ne cunoaștem orașul ? Dar împrejurimile? Suntem mereu prea ocupați… griji, teme,serviciu… și uităm că sunt lucruri și locuri frumoase care ne înconjoară și pe care le lăsăm în uitare.
Trec zilnic prin diverse locuri. Le admir sau dimpotrivă și… deodată… mi-amintesc …
A fost odată un loc bine cunoscut de către alții… nu de mine.De la ei am aflat că acel loc pe lângă care trec zilnic în drumul meu spre şcoală e o cabană, azi uitată, e fosta cabană de la Teioasa, în care oamenii puteau să se întâlnească în trecut pentru a sărbători diverse zile, precum 1 și 2 mai sau 23 august.
Am aflat că în 1967 s-a construit scena din beton, unde de 1 și 2 mai, dar și de 23 august, aveau loc sărbătorile mult iubite de comuniști în poiana de la Teioasa. Nu exista nicio construcție în acea zonă, tarabele cu mici fiind aduse din Darabani de la Cooperația de Consum.
În 1985 primarul orașului Darabani era Octav Porfireanu. Acesta, după o ședință ținută la primăria Darabani (Consiliul Popular), a propus conducătorilor de pe raza localității o contribuție voluntară pentru o cabană în pădurea de la Teioasa, ce trebuia să aibă caracter de restaurant și de bar pentru oamenii muncii de la unitățile din Darabani, care ar fi avut astfel unde să petreacă sărbătorile.
În vara anului 1985 se ridică, prin contribuția socialiștilor din Darabani, acea cabană, pe nume „Prutul”. Astfel, CAP-ul Bajura contribuie cu cărămizi, chirpici, țiglă, ceva tâmplărie și forță de muncă la turnarea pereților și a temeliei. La fel a procedat si CAP-ul Darabani, iar Cooperativa „Prestarea” din Darabani contribuie cu tâmplărie (uși, ferestre etc.).
După ridicarea la roșu a clădirii, Cooperația de Consum – Darabani preia cabana în administrare, fără plată. O tencuiește, o văruiește, o vopsește, îi pune lambriuri şi o amenajează ca unitate turistică, mobilând-o cu scaune, mese, vitrine etc. Camerele amenajate de Cooperație aveau inițial următoarele destinații: mini-restaurant, cameră oficială, cameră de protocol, terase sus la etaj şi jos la parter și magazie de mărfuri.
Până la 22 decembrie 1989, când a avut loc revoluția anticomunistă, a fost condusă de Valerian Pintilie. Prin apariția legii 18/1991 (Legea fondului funciar), pădurea de la Teioasa a fost retrocedată foștilor proprietari din 1948, inclusiv zona în care a fost construită cabana.
După privatizarea comerțului în România postrevoluționară, unitățile cooperațiilor de consum își reduc activitatea, fiind nevoite să vândă o parte din activele fixe, astfel că, de voie sau de nevoie, și clădirea cabanei Prutul este vândută unor întreprinzători particulari: mai întâi domnului Mimi Bujor, apoi domnului Dan Ţîmpău.
În vara anului 2014, în poiana la Teioasa s-au întors zilele de sărbătoare, graţie organizării festivalului „Zilele Nordului”.
Dan Tîmpău, actualul proprietar al cabanei, a declarat că își propune ca din 2015 să înceapă să facă investiții în spațiul pe care îl posedă, pentru a readuce Cabana în circuitul turistic și de agrement, pentru dărăbăneni și pentru turiști.
