Timp de peste două secole dărăbănenii au convieţuit cu o numeroasă comunitate evreiască. Faptul a lăsat urme adânci în istoria localităţii. O consecinţă se întâlneşte şi în plan spritual. Iată, avem 3 scriitori evrei cu origini dărăbănene.
Primul în ordine cronologică este Şmil Weinştein-Boiangiu, născut la Darabani, în 1910, unde scoate revista “Haschachar”. Ca poet şi-a ales pseudonimul A. Ebion (în ivrit “un om sărac”). A fost un autor proletcultist, cântând osanale regimului totalitar. Evreii din Israel nu i-au iertat această orientare de stânga extremă, chiar dacă la bătrâneţe poetul făcea mai puţine concesii puterii comuniste. A scris atât în româneşte cât şi în limba idiş. Să menţionăm câteva dintre volumele sale publicate: Apus de noapte (1938), Pulbere de aur ( 1941), Poezii muncitoreşti( 1962), O lume apune, o lume răsare (1965), Ritm nou( 1969) sau Oraşul respiră (1974).
Destinul scriitorului a fost unul dramatic. Nereuşind la Darabani, în condiţiile precare ale unui târg sărac şi izolat, Şmil Weinştein-Boiangiu, visătorul, pleacă la Bucureşti devenind A. Ebion. Se ataşează entuziast realismului socialist şi scrie cărţi pline de compromisuri morale. Dar rămâne un nostalgic al târgului natal, pe care îl descrie într-o emoţionantă poezie intitulată “Anatema”:
Zăcea târgul adormit
în umed aşternut de glod
şi strângea
la sânu-i rece
copiii vitregi
din norod.
A. Ebion este consemnat în toate istoriile literare importante din Israel, cu amalgamul său de calităţi şi defecte.
Urmează pe scara timpului Simon Haran. Şi acesta având o biografie zbuciumată. La 7 ani este deportat cu familia din Darabani într-un lagăr din Transnistria. Când se întoarce, după terminarea războiului, pleacă spre Istrael, unde s-a stabilit în 1948. Tipăreşte primul volum de versuri “Poezii naive” în 1962, urmat de “Poezii pentru Adina”( soţia sa). Mai scoate câteva culegeri de versuri la o cunoscută editură din Israel “Eked”, specializată pe poezie. Aici, de-a lungul anilor, vor fi tipărite în ebraică traduceri din marea lirică românească: Eminescu, Arghezi, Nichita Stănescu. Toate vor apărea sub semnătura lui Simon Haran care va tălmăci şi multe pagini de proză românescă.
Interesantă este povestea legăturilor cu opera argheziană, care au început şi s-au consolidat în Ţara Sfântă. După cum ne informează Mitzura Arghezi, Haran obţinuse consimţământul marelui poet român de a fi tradus în ebraică. Lansarea elegantei plachete argheziene “Frunze”, la Tel Aviv, a fost un eveniment literar. Simon Haran (decedat între timp) rămâne un remarcabil exponet al poeziei ebraice contemporane.
În fine, să amintim şi de prozatoarea şi poeta Luiza Carol (pseudonimul Luizei Zilberman) cu bunici dărăbăneni. Scriitoarea păstrează amintiri de neşters din anii copilăriei, în care apar adesea şi imagini dărăbănene. Născută în 1947, Luiza Carol se stabileşte în Israel abia în 1980. La noi s-a făcut cunoscută cu două cărţi pentru copii: “Exerciţii- poezii pentru cei mai mici copii” (1976) şi “Ţară, ţară primăvară” (1978). Pe pământ ebraic tipăreşte: “Parafraze eminesciene”, “Urs şi piatră”, “Corabia” etc.
Se afirmă în special pe tărâmul literaturii pentru copii, având adesea ca sursă de inspiraţie universul propriei copilării dar şi spiritualitatea românească. Nu doar ţara natală, România, ci şi Darabaniul, ca leagăn de edenice amintiri, însemnă foarte mult în literatura Luizei Carol. Să reproducem pentru cititorii noştri poezia “La Darabani”, plină de savoare şi umor, pusă pe muzica originală a aceleiaşi autoare:
La Darabani, pe vremea când făcea plopul pere
la Darabani, când răchita făcea micşunele,
ieşeau din ouă fierte în apă şi cu sare
nişte gâşte albe extraordinare
care-şi smulgeau fulgii în fiecare zi
ca să umple perne mari şi durduliiREFREN:
Ce deosebea oraşul acesta
de orice alt oraş?(x2)
La Darabani, la Darabani erau trei Purime pe zi,
la Darabani copiii în bătrâni se costumau,
la Darabani bătrânii îşi puneau măştile de copii,
la Darabani cuvintele în vise se-ntrupauLa Darabani, pe vremuri, existau vaci speciale
care păşteau cu grijă mare iarbă strict caşer
purtau în coarne oale umplute cu sarmale
în foi de viţă cu cimbru şi piper;
aveau ugere pline, pline cu smântână
şi brânză de trei ori pe săptămână”.
